The Benton Volunteer Fire Company is headquartered in the Borough of Benton in rural northeast Pennsylvania. We are an all volunteer organization that was originally chartered in 1939 and currently operates with over 30 active members staffing 2 Ambulances, 2 Engines, 2 Brush trucks, a Tanker, and a Quick Attack. In 2015 we responded to 106 fire calls and 730 were EMS calls. We provide a full range of fire suppression, rescue, EMS, and community education services to the 4,500 residents of Benton Borough, Benton Township, Jackson Township, Fishing Creek Township, and Stillwater Borough under contract. We also provide mutual/automatic aid coverage to Orange Township, Greenwood Township, Pine Township, Millville Borough, Jordan Township, Sugarloaf Township, Huntington Township, Fairmount Township, and New Columbus Borough serving an additional 9,500 residents totaling 100 square miles.
Our 1982 Engine is in need of replacement. We recently placed an order for a new Pumper/Tanker combination unit that will fill multiple roles and provide increased fire suppression capabilities for our community. The new Pumper/Tanker is scheduled to arrive in early 2016. If you would like to donate specifically to this fund, please mail us a check with "Apparatus Fund" in the memo. Thank you for all of your support.
